How to avoid deformation and cracking of sweeper solid tires

Material innovation
The cracking problem of sweeper solid tires is mainly caused by the aging of rubber. In order to solve this challenge, Jiangsu Topower Tyre Co., Ltd. and the research and development team of the School of Polymer Materials of Qingdao University of Science and Technology have successfully developed a "three-layer composite anti-aging rubber formula" based on the use characteristics of sweeper solid tires in harsh environments such as ultraviolet rays, ozone and high temperatures. The composition of this formula is as follows:
Surface protective layer: A composite material of nano-scale zinc oxide and carbon nanotubes is used to form a dense protective net, which can effectively block the erosion of ultraviolet rays and ozone, and significantly improve the weather resistance of rubber.
Middle reinforcement layer: A high-modulus natural rubber and fiber glue composite material is selected. After optimization, its tensile strength is increased to 25MPa and the elongation at break is 450%. This layer is designed to improve the toughness and durability of the overall structure.
Bottom bonding layer: Through molecular chain modification technology, the bonding strength between rubber and metal steel ring is ensured to reach 12N/mm, far exceeding the industry standard. This innovation is to improve the overall stability and safety of the tire.
The formula has been certified as a "Jiangsu High-tech Product" and has been tested by a third party to verify that its service life has been extended by 40%. In addition, its anti-aging performance has passed the ISO 1431-1 ozone aging test (50pphm×40℃×72h without cracks), further proving its excellent anti-aging ability.
Structural optimization

Innovation of buffer rubber layer: embedding low heat buffer rubber between the carcass and the tread can effectively reduce dynamic heat generation by 20%, thereby reducing the risk of deformation caused by thermal stress.
This structure has successfully passed the ECE R117 tire rolling resistance certification, ensuring that energy consumption is reduced by 15% on the basis of bearing capacity. This innovation not only improves the performance of the product, but also provides customers with a more economical use experience.
Process upgrade

Intelligent mixing system: through online viscosity monitoring and temperature closed-loop control, the uniformity of rubber mixing is ensured, and the error is controlled within 1%, which improves production efficiency and product consistency.
Precision molding process: using the combined process of "hydraulic cold feed extruder + drum vulcanizer", the tread thickness tolerance is controlled within ±0.5mm to ensure the accuracy of each tire.
Dynamic detection system: Each tire must undergo X-ray nondestructive testing and dynamic balancing test before leaving the factory, and the rejection rate is strictly controlled below 0.3% to ensure that each product meets high quality standards.

What are the precautions for the installation of sweeper solid tyre

Preparation before installation
Specification matching verification
Sweeper Solid Tire adopts modular design and must strictly follow the size requirements of the equipment wheel hub. For example, the wheel hub diameter of a sanitation vehicle should be controlled within ±1mm from the inner diameter of the tire. Before installation, be sure to check the sweeper solid tire model (such as ST-205/55R16) and the parameters in the equipment technical manual to avoid stress concentration problems caused by size mismatch.
Carcass status inspection
Use professional equipment to conduct depth detection of cracks on the tire surface, requiring the crack width to not exceed 2mm and the depth to not exceed 5mm. At the same time, the depth of the tread pattern needs to be monitored regularly, and the pattern depth of the new tire should reach or exceed 8mm. During use, special attention should be paid to the integrity of the carcass airtight layer. Minor damage may lead to the risk of tire blowout during operation.
Environmental condition control
It is recommended to install in an environment with a temperature range of 15-25℃ and a humidity of no more than 60%. A logistics company installed in a high temperature environment, which caused the expansion coefficient of the rubber material to change, resulting in abnormal clearance between the tire and the wheel hub. Jiangsu Topower Tyre Co., Ltd. recommends using professional constant temperature equipment to store tires and letting them stand for 24 hours before installation to adapt to the ambient temperature.
Installation process
Wheel cleaning process
When cleaning the wheel hub, a three-step method should be used: first, use 120# sandpaper to polish the oxide layer on the surface of the wheel hub, then use a special cleaning agent to remove oil stains, and finally blow away the residue with compressed air. A municipal sanitation fleet did not thoroughly clean the wheel hub, resulting in a 12% tire leakage failure rate after installation.
Pressure installation process control
When using a hydraulic press to install sweeper solid tires, the pressure curve must comply with the ISO 18694 standard. A sanitation equipment manufacturer monitors through a pressure sensor that the clearance between the tire and the wheel hub reaches the best state when the pressure reaches 25MPa. The pressing speed also needs special attention. It is recommended to control it between 2-3mm/s. Too fast speed may cause the rubber material to tear.
Post-installation detection
Air tightness test
Use a helium mass spectrometer leak detector for air tightness detection, and the leakage rate must be controlled at ≤1×10^-8Pa·m³/s. Data from the laboratory of Jiangsu Topower Tyre Co., Ltd. show that the service life of sweeper solid tires that have passed this test can be extended by more than 20%.
Road test acceptance standard
It is recommended to conduct a 200km comprehensive road test, focusing on monitoring the temperature changes of the tires. A sanitation equipment manufacturer monitored through an infrared thermal imager and found that when the tire surface temperature is maintained below 85℃, the performance of the rubber material can remain stable.
